Whatever: No one behaves when I have a camera in hand

I am the family picture taker...that is not the same as photographer, which implies skill.

My subjects are often surly and annoying. They rarely behave, especially once I have said "behave".

Here is a classic example. Or 10.

Did not take this one, but still...

Please remember...these were taken at a memorial service. We were all actually very sad. However, the  deceased, my crazy, goofy and very wonderful  sister in law, would have approved. And participated. And encouraged.

Well...it's been awhile

I'm sort of back. At least for a minute.  The months have rolled by and with them a lot of wishing I was blogging.
Birthday girl did not get her post. 15 is grand and involves driving.

We went to two music festivals, with lots of great laughs and brought home lots of great long, long lasting memories.

Summer working is a new experience for me. The last summer I worked full time, I was not a mother. I sped home after work and went to the pool just as the moms were packing up. Suckers. Now, I go home and pick up my kids for their social or sports activities. Much different.

I started working out at Pure Barre and so far, I hate it in a good way. So out of shape, but feeling more energetic and inspired to do more.

My garden is coming along and is gorgeous. My backyard project is 80% done. I scraped the railing to paint and we installed reclaimed tin around our deck. Summer is what it is, busy and full.

I have missed blogging, mostly because it me time. My head time.  But, my head has been tired.

Whatever: February is for Stitchfix lovers

I have been dying to write this blog post all week. But I was swamped! I wrote quite a few posts for my work blogs ( here and here) and I was brain dead. Then my camera battery needed charging, we had something Wednesday  night and, well...what can I say...I lived the same life everyone else does every week.
7 inches of snow

I have been using the service, Stitchfix for a few months now. Stitchfix, if  you have not heard it is a  personal shopping company that sends you a selection of clothing once a month. You try it on and keep what you like and return the rest, all for $20 a month, which is applied towards your order. I have been very pleased with the service, clothing and blog.

Whatever: My drug addled weekend.

I had my implant done this week. And of course all the jokes that went along with 'implant" were hilarious.

Social Media...I totally soft balled that out there to you! If implant were plural there would be photos.
I am such a light weight when it comes to medications. I rarely even take Advil. So, when I took horse pill ibuprofen and pain meds, the gas and an IV I was a goner. Friday, I was still loopy.

Dirt: What happened

As I start 2014 I am taking stock of a few things including my blog.
Blogging started as a way for me to keep track of my life and my life's goals. At the time, I was struggling to find my way. I did not realize it at the time, but I was lost. My kids were swiftly approaching that point where they really did not need me physically as much. I was looking for something fulfilling in my life and so, I started a blog.

My 40th birthday celebration and the reason I started this blog

Whatever: Emergency

Today was a really odd day.I was in tears in the bathroom at work before 9 am.
Then I had a great uplifting conversation with co-worker about if I was weird in high school..which was a funny question to be asked. My day ended with my passing in traffic a converted ambulance that was a grilled cheese food truck. Apparently "Grilled Cheese Emergency" is a thing.
That made my day.

Whatever: Checking things off the list

As summer rolls on, I am trying to finish several projects that get pushed to the wayside.

One is hanging my extensive collection of art. I have had pieces stashed since we painted last summer and it is finally time to get them all hung.

I am a huge fan of the gallery wall and have several in my house.
I like that they show off my (very) eclectic tastes and also visually,  to me at least, they are stimulating.

Another project I am trying to finish is framing my collection (2) of concert posters that I started, oh...this year. I bought my husband the poster from our new year's eve date and he bought me one at a show we went to this summer. I hope to add to my collection to make it a real one.

Maybe I'll add one of these VIA

As concert tshirts don't last forever, I wanted something that we both could appreciate.

I found a slew of photos I want to frame to make a gallery wall of shame (as my sister refers to the hallway of family photos every Catholic family seems to have). I love quirky photos of my kids. I think I need to find some of Steve and I to hang.

I love checking items of my mental list of things that need to be done.
